Kelly Milnes - Head of School

Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo) Mrs Kelly Milnes

At Moorhouse Academy, we see the importance of inclusion for all and strive to cater for the differing needs of our children. We wholeheartedly believe that all teachers are teachers of SEND; the inclusion and progress for pupils with SEND is everybody’s responsibility.

Learners’ needs are met through a graduated approach starting at a whole-school level of personalised teaching, with additional support that can be introduced to overcome barriers.  Provision should continually evolve with our students’ development to maximise on successes and to overcome emergent or developing needs. We are committed to working with all families and the community to support our children.  If a child with SEND is not making the expected progress, we offer targeted intervention and whole-school initiatives, as outlined in the links on this page. For our most updated information on how we meet the needs of all learners, please see our SEND Information Report.

Roxanne Britton is the Trust SENDCO who is supporting Moorhouse Academy.

Mable Therapy

The Mable platform is specifically designed to engage and motivate children. Engaged students, combined with highly-experienced, qualified therapists, means quicker progress and better outcomes. We are proud to be a Mable school and to promote that we have Mable-certified staff working here at Moorhouse Academy.
