At Watergrove Trust, the commitment has always been about Providing More. Today, that promise extends far beyond the classroom and directly into the very world our learners will inherit.
This week we hosted our first annual Climate Change and Sustainability Summit led by Claire Hilton and Hannah Holt. Colleagues from across Watergrove Trust joined together to learn more about our Carbon Emissions and how small changes can make a big difference. As a group we collaboratively worked to co-create Watergrove Trusts Climate Action & Sustainability Roadmap and enjoyed a sustainably produced lunch.
During the summit we:
Considered the Lifecycle of a glue stick, thinking about the invisible carbon impact
Shared our trust wide carbon footprint
Reviewed robust climate action plans
Hosted workshops packed with practical, actionable ideas to bring back to our communities
Explored hands-on projects β including spreading wildflower seed bombs to create vibrant new habitats and getting outdoors to understand more about biodiversity. Thank you to Brian McNally, Jodie Neville and Tracey Blackburn for their inspiring workshops.
We are excited to see these plans take root and to continue working together to foster a greener, more sustainable future.
Special thanks to Open Kitchen for providing delicious and sustainable food.
