Poetry Competition

Write a poem, either on your own or as a family. It can be anything to do with the lockdown and it needs to be inspiring. It can be about kindness, boredom, family, missing our friends, new routines – anything you like.

Poems will be published on our website in the Children's Work section and all entries will receive a certificate from school. We will choose the three best poems and prizes will be sent home.

Get your poetry pens out and get going!

All entries need to be sent to the email before Monday 11th May 2020.

This year, with the disruption caused by Covid-19, the all-new digital aspect of the Summer Reading Challenge is launching earlier than usual to keep children reading over the summer.  The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual event aimed at 4 – 11 year olds. Children are encouraged to read six (or more) books of their choice during the summer holidays with collectable incentives and rewards, plus a certificate for every child who completes the Challenge.

The Summer Reading Challenge 2020 launched on Friday 5 June and you can join the Silly Squad on a new adventure by setting your own personal reading challenge to complete this summer. Create a free profile to keep track of your books, reviews, and all of the special rewards you unlock along the way. You'll also find heaps of super silly activities, quizzes, videos, games and more to keep you entertained at home. This year's Challenge runs from June to September, so there is plenty of time to take part and get silly this summer.

Head on over to to start your seriously silly summer reading Challenge!

Happy Reading!

V.E Day - Friday 8th May

The aim of this pack is o ensure children recognise and understand the importance of this event. It provides an overview of the war itself with an emphasis on the home front. It provides opportunities for children to learn more about the role of the local area in the war by taking their daily exercise down to the local memorial if appropriate and safe. In addition, suggestions are given to how this significant event can be marked using activities from across the curriculum.
